✨ My Top 5 Movies ✨

Everything Everywhere All At Once (2022)

A truly mind-bending cinematic masterpiece that somehow manages to seamlessly weave together multiverses, emotions, and genres.

Waves (2019)

A24 never fails, but I must admit this is some of their best work. Waves tears your heart out and pieces it back together. It’s powerfully reflective with a roller coaster of emotions.

Mamma Mia (2008)

Two hours of music and pure joy, and quite literally the perfect feel-good movie. Also, never fails to cheer me up. (I mean it’s ABBA!)

Barbie (2023)

Greta Gerwig packs some pretty heavy themes (femininity, the patriarchy, consumerism to name a few) while still keeping a balance with amazingly paced comedy and fun. It’s an amazing commentary on the somewhat harsh realities of today.

The New Edition Story (2017)

Okay, so I kind of snuck this one in. I’m a sucker for celebrity biopics and this one really hits the spot. (Plus, I can’t get over just how absolutely incredible the casting was)

✨ My Top 5 TV Shows / Series ✨

Star (2016 - 2019)

Amazing music, drama and the plot twists keep on coming. Also, has a lot of substance and depth. Attempts to address tough subjects, including domestic violence, race, police brutality, immigration, transphobia and religion. It's interesting with the right amount of music, humor and edginess.

Prison Break (2005 - 2017)

There’s a reason why this show went on for 12 years. And it’s the absolute brilliance of Michael Schofield. It’s truly thrilling, suspenseful and keeps you at the edge of your seat. It’s a perfectly plotted series with amazing storylines and almost unpredictable.

Grand Army (2020)

This show is the best depiction of the high school experience I’ve ever seen on TV. It’s a complex, sometimes harsh high school story that exhibits such raw authenticity and character development. This is truly what teens are facing in America.

The Good Place (2016-2020)

This show deserves all the awards. Emmys, Oscars, everything. It’s perfect. Just perfect. A true feel good show with such a strong message. It’s also instinctively reflective and deeply existentialist, and truly leaves you wanting to be a better person and to leave a positive mark in the world.

New Girl (2011-2018)

Of course we have to have a sitcom in here! Who doesn’t love some mindless TV. I’m pretty sure I’ve watched the whole run about 4 times. It’s light, refreshing and features hilarious storylines and character development. (plus, Prince guest starred in this!)
